Day 2

Wow, what another fantastic day we had today! We went to sleep pretty early last night and we awoke at 10:00 today, i calculated that I had 13 hours sleep. We were awoken by a voice call from the reception asking us whether we wanted to go to the beach with Monique and Stav, how could we say no! We took a 20 minute drive to the beach and luckily found a parking space straight away, the view throughout that drive was crazy! It's so nice to be surrounded by 3 mountains wherever we go! It was nice enough being at the beach but to have 3 beautiful mountains behind us also.. it was unreal!

We stayed at the beach for about 2 hours and believe me that was enough! Events such as swimming in the freezing cold water, reading my book and speaking to monique and stav, the sun had taken its toll on me. I could see my skin was starting to get a bit red, despite putting on sun cream twice! Ahh well, on to Hout Bay!

Hout bay is renowned for it's fish and boy did it love up to it's name!! We went to a cool little fish restaurant/take out kind of place, which was really REALLY nice. I can't remember the kind of fish (ill find out and tell you) i had but it tasted so nice and the chips, dare i say it, were nicer then ones in england. The restaurant was very unique, as i said before.. it had a takeout kind of feel to it, mainly because of the kfc-esque box you get it in. That may put some of you readers off the idea but it really was so nice.

Afterwards, we went for a nice stroll in the sun down to the bay! There was a parade going on which happens every weekend apparently which was pretty cool! But we walked past that and went to the side of the bay where we saw loads of seals coming up for food which was crazy!! I couldn't believe it. Moments like that make me realise how lucky i am to be in South Africa, you would never get anything like that in england. This little kid who i would say was about 12, was dangling food in his mouth for the seals to come up and get it! The kid had bottle i'll give him that, bit of a daredevil if truth be told. I didn't get my camera out of our the bag in the boot of monique's car to film it all, but she assured us that we would go back in the very neat future, so that was a relief. Although jeff did get an awesome photo which i will upload.

Monique then took us up to Stagna Hill where it was the most spectacular view!! You can literally see the whole of cape town, i got some great pictures and videos and i was really glad Monique took us down there, what a second day we were having! Jeff and I were loving it. We were so far up the mountain and the view was just breathtaking! A paraglider even flew off the cliff in front of our very eyes.

Time to go home… ALMOST! Jeff and I thought it was a good idea to go and get some groceries so we went to the supermarket and we got some bread, butter, nuts, and a 4 litre bottle of orange juice and a 5 litre bottle of water for 74 rand which was pretty good!

NOW It was time to go home, it was a 5 minute walk back to berghof.. maybe a bit more because of how heavy the 4 litre and 5 litre bottles were carrying.

I am writing this post in the dining room, where it's the only place people can get wifi! It's not the end of the world, but monique is going to try and sort it. It was great to speak to Mum and Dad on Skype.. there was no lag in the connection and the picture quality was awesome! 'Are you missing us?' they asked! Ha! Don't be silly.

All the best,

Luke
