Day 22.
Pretty calm day today to be fair!
We had a nice lie in till 9:30, well I did anyway! Jeff went to the supermarket to get some milk and bread at about 8:00.
We arrived at the learning centre at 12:00 where our main job was to just help prepare for tomorrow's big communicare league kick off! So we did a few trips to sentra (Ruyterwacht's local shop) to get some firewood for the briye (not sure of spelling, it's a BBQ basically!) and of course we celebrated Joe's birthday! Pretty sad that he had to be in control of Jeff and I on his birthday but happy birthday Joe!
We packed the truck up with tomorrow's gear such as communicare banners, heaps of food and drink, Gazebos and loads of other stuff.. then headed to drommedaris to drop all the gear off! Jeff once again got in the back of the Bucky and I hopped in the front! Today was so hot though, literally about 36 degrees! I'm starting to bronze better now, not looking as pasty so that's good news! Tomorrow is going to be around 33 degrees so it's definitely gonna be a sweaty one when we play for the staff team and when we coach our team tomorrow. Jeff and I have both been given a team to manage. My teams called Bosathig Gardens! I will ensure that we will be unbeaten during my time here!
We caught the train home at about 4:15 but went to a few shops to get shower gel and an adaptor for my hair dryer as the last one was awful! Sick of wearing caps. The adaptor now fits the plug perfectly thank god!!
We were picked up by joe at just gone 7:00 to head to Ruyterwacht to attend the talent show called 'Wacht's got talent! Hosted by a few youth clubs in the community! It was a really good night despite being dragged up on stage to be introduced to the community and say a few words! Thanks Joe. The winner deserved the victory, he was a very talented street dancer and was popping moves that were unreal! It was unfortunate to hear that the winner nearlly got mugged on the way out but security stepped in and he got home safely thankfully!
We got back home at about 10:30 and decided to have an early nights kip knowing that we were to be picked up by Joe at 9:00 for the tournament tomorrow! Looking forward to it.. It should be a good day if everything goes to plan!
All the best,
Luke.
