Day 31

Day 31

Braai time!! Jeff and I were picked up by Danielle at about 12:30 before heading to her Sister's house to have a typical south african family braai! I can honestly say it was my favourite day that i've had in South Africa so far! The whole family are so nice and welcoming and the hospitality they showed towards us was out of this world. Always filling up our drinks, providing us with food and fun games and even letting us jump in the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Danielle's brother showed me a trick on how to keep meat tender.. believe it or not it was sprinkling the meat with Black Label Beer! But believe me it really did work the meat was unbelievably nice! My drink for the day was bottles of beer where as Jeff had 'Ice Cream' also known as Sky Vodka which has the name ice cream because it tastes like it! For someone who doesn't massively drink Jeff handled it all very well.

One game that I will definitely be taking back with me to the UK is Chinese Dominoes! It's a strategic drinking game using dominoes. It's complicated to explain but you can get the hang of it after a while. I sat back for a good couple hours to comprehend the game but also to give my liver a break. After understanding the game enough to play, I stepped up.. it was my time to shine! It was only destiny that I would win my first competitive game of Chinese Dominoes. What can I say!? I'm just so talented! After a few games.. it was time to jump in the pool! Jeff and I both had our extravagant ways of jumping in the pool. Jeff performed a looping dive which seemed like he hung in the air for ages. I performed a running front flip (Yes i can do one of them!). The pool was freezing and it wasn't long before we made the unaminous decision of getting in the Jacuzzi, what a treat!!

We got home around 10 o'clock and hopped straight into bed. What a nice way to spend our sunday!

Baie Danki to all of the family for having us and treating us so well and giving us a super Lekkar day!

All the best

Luke
