Day 32
Today Jeff and I woke up rather dishevelled from yesterday's antics. The loud banging and drilling of building works in berghof had woken me up at around 8:30. I went into Jeff's room at 9:30 as I was quite bored and wanted to check on whether he was still alive.
Thankfully he was! We were called by Caroline at 10:00 to discuss today's plan. Caroline is Danielle's nephew who is studying hospitality management in a place called George! She's back in Cape Town for a week. It was really nice of her to take us out and for Jeff and I to hang around with someone roughly our own age. We met Caroline and her friend at Vasco station, picked up her brothers from school and then headed to play some Mini Golf or "Putt Putt" as they call it in South Africa.
There was 3 courses of mini golf we could try, each differing in difficulty. We headed for the easiest course first! I was terrible it has to be said. Caroline won the first round, jeff came close second.. Losing by one point! I came third. I'm so bad at golf! I think I'll stick to football. Caroline's friend had to leave at 3:00, so jeff, Caroline and I headed for some lunch. After lunch it was time to try our hand at the second most difficult course. Caroline won yet again!! Jeff and I came joint second, both tying on points. Jeff had to get par 5 to draw with me or 4 to win! Thankfully he got 5 and saved me the embarrassment of coming last.
Halfway through our attempt of the third course we were picked up by Caroline's mum and dad who hosted the braai yesterday! It was time to head down to Turfhall Stadium to watch some Softball. Softball is exactly the same as baseball but the ball is bigger and the pitcher has to throw the ball underarm. They had a really big seating area and apparently it really gets buzzing and atmospheric at the weekend! It was nice to watch a sport apart from football once!
We headed home around at 8 o'clock despite a bit of confusion where we were.. All Jeff's fault of course. I don't know why I listen to him half the time! I said straight on and he said left, but yet again I trusted him and we sent Caroline's dad the wrong way. Google maps came to the rescue and guided us home!
A really nice day yet again. Tonight's plans consist of some skyping, planning for tomorrow and catching up on some sleep!!
All the best
Luke
