Day 57

Day 57.

We met Joe at goodwood station at 11:00. It was week 5 of the communicare league today. However, there was only 2 fixtures. There are more senior teams than junior so therefore there is an additional week for the seniors to get their fixtures done for the first round.

Joe's son, Yonick, has quite a lot of interest around him at playing at a higher level so Joe asked me a favour of filming him in today's game. The scout, who attends the church the Africa family go to, is a keen admirer of Yonick and I could not deny the opportunity of helping Yonick reach his dream. So of course I agreed to film him. Jeff took control of the two fixtures and I went to All stars FC.

Yonick played in the under 17 game at right back and had a very solid game! I filmed him whenever the ball was close to him and got some really good clips of him in action. I personally think Yonick can go places, so to film and show people what he's made of was a pleasure. I watched a couple of games before and after Yonicks and there was quite a lot of hype surrounding me, who was I? Was I player for Arsenal? A coach? A scout? Etc etc. I sat down and then within a few minutes was surrounded by boys young and old asking me 101 questions! Some of the questions that they come up with are quite humorous!

We made our way back to Joe's at around 4 and I put together a montage from all the clips I took today on Joe's computer. It was quite a tricky process but I managed to make a good video of Yonick which I posted on YouTube! I will put the link up tomorrow. I hope the scouts like it and follow up their interest!

Home time!! Just gonna chill out at Berghof tonight!

I chose my preferences for my second placement abroad. Hong Kong, Barbados and Tanzania. Hopefully I get Hong Kong.. That would be amazing! Anywhere would to be fair. Missing home a bit now though, I guess because I now realise that there's such a short time before I'm back. I worked out the other day that in the whole of 2014 I'll probably only spend about 8-9 weeks at home. Because I'll be doing 2 abroad placements and then I'll be in Student Accommodation when I go to university in August! Crazy.

All the best

Luke
